WHAT IS A PUPPET

AND HOW ARE PUPPETS CONTROLLED?

Entertainment especially suitable for children and families, to introduce them to the range and techniques of puppetry.  Hand, rod, string and shadow puppets are made to play for their audience. The performance includes traditional puppets from far-away countries, puppets made in front of the audience from recycled objects and original hand-crafted creations, The finale is a 20 minute variety show of exotic Indian marionettes to original, commissioned music. 

The performance entertains whilst providing useful information on making and performing with puppets.  It has proved to be an inspiration for children and a valuable resource for teachers and parents.

Duration – 50 mins.   1 hour set up, 30 min get out

Please provide: Power socket, 3 tables.

Workshops  are available to follow, in which participants make and perform with their puppets. (generally in shadow theatre but another may be requested).
